Medifast Inc., an Owings Mills-based nutrition company, announced its revenue grew 5 percent for the first quarter of 2007, compared with the same quarter during 2006. Revenue grew nearly $1 million for the quarter, up to more than $20 million, while net income dipped slightly, down about $25,000 from the same time a year earlier. For the quarter, net income finished at around $1.44 million.As of Friday, shares of Medifast traded at $6.62, down 38 cents, or 5.43 percent.

Pennsylvania-based Community Bank will purchase Owings Mills-based BUCS Financial Corporation in an agreement reached by BUCS shareholders. The price tag is reported to be $23 million in cash and stock at a price of $24 per share. BUCS has assets worth $143 million; Community Bank has more than $3 billion in assets.
